Over the years Melissa has been asked to perform and write a number of original compositions for various groups and organizations.  One such organization, Vision First, is particularly close to Melissa’s heart as it sponsors the Circle of Life Celebration event in recognition of organ, tissue and cornea donors in the Indianapolis area.  The purpose of the ceremony is to honor and remember loved ones who gave the gift of life to others and provides donor families the opportunity to meet and hear from transplant recipients.  In 2009 Melissa’s father died suddenly and she, along with her siblings, honored his request to donate to those in need.  She performs each year at the Circle of Life Celebration as a tribute to the legacy of her father and all other donors, and to the lives of the recipients whom they saved.
